I just created a page on Facebook for Jesus5.com; Click Here If you are on Facebook please feel free to "like" it and share it with others. Hopefully it will drive more traffic to my page so more folks can hear the Truth of God's Word. All glory to God in the highest. Thanks beloved.
I wonder if we take the world around us, and even our own selves, for granted? Familiarity leads us to believe that what we experience everyday is normal. But what is really normal about the warmth of the sun? The chill of wind? What is so normal about our hearts beating and pumping blood through our veins? Our heart's longings? The mind? Life? Birth?
I think some disbelieve in anything miraculous simply because they believe that our world and ourselves are normal and unmiraculous. But the longer I ponder on things, the stranger it all becomes. And the stranger it all becomes, the more real the miraculous seems to me. I believe G.K. Chesterton expressed a very similar thought when he wrote that "truth is often stranger than fiction." Life is a miracle. Beauty is a miracle, as are the eyes that behold it. Love is a miracle. The breath in our lugs, the warmth of the sun, music and rhythm and all that we are so used to are all extraordinary things. Amazing. Wonderful. Miraculous. The strange truth is that truth is strange. May we never lose the wonder of our weird, weird world. -John Henry ![]() We all know that Facebook can be a major time waster. This goes for Christians as well who seem to be on there 24-7. My biggest issue with Facebook is the never-ending notifications that flood in. They can be the biggest distraction and lure you away from the current business at hand. Instead of jumping on Facebook first thing to start the day, why not read the Word of God? I highly recommend reading a few different daily Bible plans. I am currently reading 3 of them. I pray you all have the best application for your phone, You Version Bible App. It's free and there is nothing more important! I also have a 365 Day Bible I use that focuses on a specific amount for daily readings. You can order one here if you wish. Then to finish off I read out of a study Bible. It's great to read the notes to elaborate on what you have just read. In addition you could read a commentary along with your Bible. Furthermore, you could dig into some wonderful Christian books instead of Facebook. I am currently reading The Bondage Breaker by Neil T. Anderson. I just finished his prerequisite for this, Victory Over The Darkness. Above all, we need balance in life beloved. Satan and his kingdom of darkness are always trying to get us away from sound doctrine and using our time wisely. Eph 5:16 "making the most of your time, because the days are evil." |
